7 दिसंबर 2021 को IOC ने आधिकारिक रूप से घोषित किया कि ब्रेकिंग पेरिस 2024 ओलंपिक खेलों में शामिल होगा। यह निर्णय ब्रेकिंग के वैश्विक समुदाय के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर साबित हुआ है। हालांकि, यह उल्लेखनीय है कि यह खेल 2028 लॉस एंजिल्स ओलंपिक खेलों में शामिल नहीं होगा।
प्रतियोगिता का संरचना और कार्यक्रम
पेरिस 2024 ओलंपिक खेलों में ब्रेकिंग प्रतियोगिता 9 और 10 अगस्त को प्लेस दे ला कॉनकॉर्ड में होगी। इस प्रतियोगिता में 16 पुरुष और 16 महिला प्रतिभागी शामिल होंगे। प्रारंभिक चरण में चार समूहों में वितरित किए गए प्रतिभागी एक राउंड-रॉबिन प्रारूप में मुकाबला करेंगे। इसके बाद क्वार्टर-फाइनल, सेमी-फाइनल, और आखिर में मेडल मुकाबले होंगे।
